1993 OLDSMOBILE Eighty Eight, V-6

EIGHTY-EIGHT ROYALE — SERIES 3H — V-6 — Completely re-engineered the previous year, the return of the sedan-only lineup of Eighty-Eight Royales in 1993 still featured many refinements. Again offered in base and LS trim levels, the most significant change occurred under the hood. The standard Series 3800 3.8-liter V-6 received a higher compression ratio, new injectors and revised emission controls, the result being more torque (225 pound feet, up from 220 the year before), better fuel economy, cleaner exhaust and improved acceleration. This engine was linked to an electronic shift four-speed automatic transaxle. Anti-lock brakes and driver's side airbag were also standard equipment across the lineup. An LSS Package was offered on the LS sedan, which transformed the car into a sport sedan equipped with bucket seats, full instrumentation, touring suspension, variable effort steering and 16-inch aluminum wheels.
