1995 OLDSMOBILE Eighty-Eight Royale, V-6

EIGHTY-EIGHT ROYALE — SERIES 3H — V-6 — The lineup for 1995 Eighty-Eight Royale models consisted of base, LS and LSS versions. Each came equipped one way with a limited number of options available. The big change occurred under the hood with the introduction of the Series II version of the standard Eighty-Eight engine. The 3.8-liter V-6, with 9.4:1 compression ratio, was completely redesigned to improve responsiveness and durability. New features included a low-deck block design to save weight and cross-bolted main bearings for added strength. Cylinder heads had more efficient intake and exhaust ports and cleaner burning combustion chambers. The valvetrain was both stiffer and lighter and featured larger diameter valves for improved breathing. An innovative two-piece intake manifold with tuned runners and a larger throttle body delivered the air to the engine. Optional for the LSS was the 225-hp supercharged 3800 V ...
