1998 OLDSMOBILE Achieva, V-6

1998 OLDSMOBILE Achieva, V-6

ACHIEVA — SERIES 3N — V-6 — With the all-new Alero compact set for launch in 1999, the Achieva was shifted from being a regular production model into its new, final year role as a for-fleet-sale-only sedan available in the SL trim level (the previously offered SC coupe was dropped). What limited Achieva production there was occurred at the beginning of the 1998 model year (through December 1997) and was then discontinued. The 3.1 -liter V-6 and electronically controlled four-speed automatic transaxle was the lone powertrain available (Achieva's formerly offered 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine was also dropped). Reflecting changes to the rest of the Oldsmobile line, Achieva received next-generation dual airbags.
