1999 OLDSMOBILE Alero

ALERO — SERIES 3N — FOUR/V-6 — The compact Alero was produced at Oldsmobile's Lansing, Michigan, plant, available as both a coupe and a sedan in three trim levels: GX, GL and GLS. The base GX and GL coupes and sedans were powered by an advanced-design dual overhead cam 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine, rated at 150 horsepower, linked to a 4T40-E electronically controlled four-speed automatic transaxle. The GLS coupe and sedan used a 170-horsepower 3.4-liter V-6 paired with a 4T45-E electronically controlled four-speed automatic transaxle. This powertrain combination was also optional on GL models. The 2.4-liter powerplant achieved Low Emission Vehicle (LEV) status.
